Sustayn Group to Expand Miscanthus Grass Cultivation for Biomass in Europe
BIOFUELS
Sustayn Group plans to cultivate Miscanthus grass across 5,000 hectares in France, starting with 500 hectares in 2026, to provide sustainable alternatives to plastics and fossil fuels. The company aims to establish a self-sustaining operation without relying on grants, focusing on securing demand before land acquisition, with an initial investment of €2,500 to €3,500 per hectare. Miscanthus, which thrives on degraded land and requires minimal maintenance, has diverse applications including packaging materials and biofuel.
