Sweden's Minister for Defence Pål Jonson has signed an extension of the framework agreement with the United States to enhance cooperation in outer space research and usage for peaceful purposes. This agreement aims to promote scientific and technological advancements while bolstering the long-standing partnership between the two nations.

The collaboration is expected to drive innovation, create job opportunities, and strengthen military capabilities. The Swedish government has also initiated three national space programs and a space research school to further support the Swedish space sector.

Notably, the Swedish National Space Agency is funding the development of a new environmentally friendly rocket engine system through the company ECAPS, replacing toxic fuel systems.
