In Côte d'Ivoire, a feasibility study led to a biodiesel bus rapid transit system, with Scania set to deliver 450 buses, supported by the World Bank and African Development Bank. A similar initiative in Lagos, Nigeria, aims to implement biogas buses, leveraging local municipal waste as an energy source, with an agreement for 2,000 buses reached by spring 2025.
