Syria's Ministry of Energy signed an agreement on February 11 to install 140 wind turbines for a 700 megawatt project with Merv Energy National. The project aims to connect to the national electricity grid, enhancing generation capacity and promoting renewable energy usage.

Sites for the turbines will be determined based on suitability studies. The agreement was signed by Energy Minister Mohammad al-Bashir and Merv Energy's CEO Valerina Elias.
