The Taiwan Space Agency is spearheading a ten-year international initiative for Monitoring, Reporting, Validation, and Verification (MRV) of greenhouse gases, endorsed by the International Partnership for the Satoyama Initiative. Led by Dr.

Tsung-Sheng Cheng, the program employs satellite and remote sensing technologies to enhance ecosystem integrity and support Indigenous rights while facilitating participation in voluntary carbon markets through agreements with the AirCarbon Exchange in Singapore. This initiative aims for global replication, positioning Taiwan as a leader in space technology and biodiversity conservation in climate governance ahead of COP30.
