Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced a $14 million grant from the Texas Semiconductor Innovation Fund to Coherent Corporation. This funding will support the production of indium phosphide wafers at Coherent's Sherman facility, marking the establishment of the world's first 6-inch Indium Phosphide wafer factory in Texas.
