TRINEFLEX Project Simulates Green Hydrogen Production at Esamur Wastewater Treatment Plant in Spain
WATER INFRASTRUCTURE & DESALINATIONHYDROGENSYNTHETIC FUELS
The Horizon Europe TRINEFLEX project aims to enhance energy efficiency in industrial processes by integrating renewable energy and storage solutions. A simulation at the Esamur wastewater plant in Spain assesses the feasibility of producing green hydrogen using a 200kWp PV system.
The produced hydrogen can react with carbon dioxide to generate e-fuels, supporting EU decarbonization goals. The simulation utilizes DWSIM to model the electrolysis process with PEM cells, focusing on efficiency and sustainability.
