The TURBO POWER project is examining the effects of high temperature hold times on the fatigue life of Inconel 718, a nickel-based superalloy used in gas turbines. The research focuses on mean stress relaxation, initial softening at intermediate temperatures, and fatigue crack propagation, aiming to develop tools for improved fatigue design in gas turbine applications. The project's findings are presented in a theoretical framework and four accompanying research papers.
