The United Arab Emirates is looking to enhance its collaboration with South Korea in energy regulation, small modular reactors, and artificial intelligence, according to Christer Viktorsson, head of the UAE's Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation. The partnership has already proven successful through the Barakah nuclear project, which comprises four operational reactors supplying 25% of the UAE's energy needs. Viktorsson highlighted the need for further cooperation in AI for nuclear safety and is optimistic about the potential of small modular reactors to meet energy demands in various sectors.
