Uganda's Kijani Forestry Launches Carbon Credit Initiative for Farmers by 2026

Kijani Forestry Ltd has launched a carbon credit initiative in Uganda, incentivizing farmers to plant trees under the National Climate Change Policy, with the goal of generating significant income by 2026. By mid-2024, over 30,000 households had planted more than 10 million trees, addressing severe deforestation and promoting biodiversity through the restoration of indigenous species. The initiative aims to enhance local livelihoods while combating environmental degradation.
