Centrica and Hiiroc, supported by the Net Zero Technology Centre, have successfully conducted the UK’s first trial of hydrogen injection into a gas-fired peak power plant at Brigg Energy Park. The trial, which featured a 3% hydrogen blend, demonstrated the potential of existing gas infrastructure to deliver low-carbon electricity.

Hiiroc's thermal plasma electrolysis technology produced hydrogen on-site, highlighting a cost-effective pathway for decarbonizing power generation without major infrastructure changes. This initiative aligns with the UK’s ambitious clean power targets for 2030.
