Uniper and TenneT to Develop Power Station and Network Node in Großkrotzenburg, Germany

HYDROGENDATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE

Uniper SE and TenneT BV are set to develop a new central network node in Großkrotzenburg, Germany, to meet the rising power demand from data centers in the Frankfurt area, with operations anticipated to commence by 2030. The project involves Uniper selling part of a Staudinger power plant plot to TenneT for a new 380-kilovolt switchyard, enhancing electricity transmission capacity and supporting the integration of a hydrogen-ready gas turbine plant. Additionally, TenneT plans to replace an existing overhead line to increase transmission capacity by over 50% by September 2025.
