Dr. Jiayang Li from the University of Bristol has developed a smart shoe prototype equipped with sensors and AI to monitor walking patterns and assess fall risks for older adults. The shoe contains 253 sensors that provide real-time data to users and caregivers, helping to improve safety and independence. The technology will be presented at a technology conference in San Francisco, with plans for larger clinical trials and eventual mass production.
