UPV Installs Wave Generator to Simulate Tsunamis; Acciona Sells Hydro Plants to Endesa for €1 Billion

The University of the Basque Country has installed a 25-meter wave generator to simulate tsunami conditions for testing renewable marine energy systems. In a separate development, Acciona has sold 34 hydroelectric plants to Endesa for €1 billion, while Gran Canaria's president has proposed integrating the Las Niñas dam into the Salto de Chira hydroelectric complex to enhance energy storage. Additionally, Elawan Energy has secured financing for 23 mini-hydroelectric plants in northern Spain, and a geothermal exploration project in Tenerife has received €43.2 million in public funding.
