USA Bioenergy and Texas Renewable Fuels to Develop $2.8 Billion Advanced Biorefinery in Texas
HYDROGENCARBON CAPTURE
USA Bioenergy, in collaboration with Texas Renewable Fuels, plans to transform the former Louisiana Pacific plywood mill site in Bon Wier into a $2.8 billion advanced biorefinery. The facility will convert forest byproducts into low-carbon fuels, including sustainable aviation fuel.
Announced by Governor Greg Abbott in 2022, the project is backed by a 20-year agreement with Southwest Airlines and aims to create over 140 permanent jobs. While construction has yet to begin, the refinery is set to contribute significantly to local employment and the clean energy sector.
