Vema Hydrogen to Supply Clean Hydrogen for California Data Centers Through Agreement with Verne
Vema Hydrogen has entered a Hydrogen Purchase and Sale Agreement with Verne to supply clean hydrogen for data centers in California, beginning in 2028. This partnership aims to address the expected doubling of data center energy consumption by 2030, which is projected to require approximately 945 terawatt-hours of energy.
Vema plans to produce over 36,000 metric tons of its Engineered Mineral Hydrogen (EMH) annually under the 10-year agreement. The collaboration highlights the demand for sustainable energy sources in the data center sector, especially as artificial intelligence drives increased power needs.
Vema's technology generates high-purity hydrogen from natural geochemical processes, enabling gigawatt-scale energy solutions. The partnership also reinforces Vema's status as a Qualified Supplier recognized by the First Public Hydrogen Authority in California.
