Veolia's ACT Recycling Plant Costs Rise to $37 Million with Increased Capacity

The cost of the new Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) in Hume, ACT, has risen to $37 million, an increase of $11 million from the initial estimate of $26 million. Veolia will cover the additional expenses while maintaining a 20-year operating contract with the ACT Government, which contributes $26 million.

The facility is designed to process 115,000 tonnes of recyclables annually and features advanced sorting technology and fire safety systems. Construction is expected to create over 100 jobs.
