Victoria Deploys 139 Neighbourhood Batteries to Reduce Power Bills
ENERGY STORAGE
The Victorian government has initiated the rollout of 139 neighbourhood batteries to lower power bills and enhance energy resilience. These batteries utilize inexpensive renewable energy and are designed to provide backup during extreme weather.
The latest installation at Truganina Community Centre is projected to save $20,000 annually. The initiative is part of the 100 Neighbourhood Batteries Program, contributing to Victoria's energy storage target of 2.6 GW by 2030 and 6.3 GW by 2035.
