Lam Dong's provincial administration has approved a $2.3 billion expansion plan for alumina projects by Vinacomin, which includes the Nhan Co plant and the Lam Dong bauxite-aluminum complex. The Nhan Co expansion will add a production line with a capacity of 1.2 million metric tons per year, expected to begin operations in 2030.

The Bao Lam complex will also add a similar production line, with construction set to finish by late 2030. These projects are the largest investments in the province's history.
