Vietnam Plans to Transfer 1 Million Tons of Carbon Credits to Support Green Energy Transition
HYDROGENCARBON CAPTURE
Vietnam's transportation sector, responsible for 9% of the nation's greenhouse gas emissions, is aiming for significant reductions by 2030. Under a comprehensive program initiated by the Prime Minister, the country targets net-zero emissions by 2050.
The initiative includes generating carbon credits, which may facilitate financial reinvestment in sustainable transport. By 2025, all new buses must operate on electricity or green energy, while the carbon market is set to provide funding opportunities for decarbonization efforts in the sector.
