ViZn Energy Systems to Install 200 kW Flow Battery with Solar Array in Nicaragua

ENERGY STORAGE

ViZn Energy Systems will provide a 200 kW zinc-iron redox flow battery to be integrated with an 800 kWp solar array at Rancho Santana, a residential community in Nicaragua. The project, covering 2,700 acres, will be installed by PELICAN, S.A., a local EPC.

The energy storage system addresses high electricity costs in Nicaragua, particularly during peak hours from 6 PM to 10 PM, where grid tariffs are elevated. The flow battery enables customers to deploy larger solar systems while reducing energy costs and managing peak demand charges. ViZn's battery is designed to operate without cooling systems and offers zero capacity fade over 20 years, providing full access to its state of charge.
