WATER INFRASTRUCTURE & DESALINATION

Water UCI has secured a $1.39 million grant from the Cyrus Tang Foundation for a three-year project addressing agricultural and urban runoff pollution in the US and China. This follows a $1 million grant in 2023 for a wastewater treatment project.

The new research will focus on severe contamination in regions like Taihu Lake and the Yangtze delta, applying policy analysis frameworks to manage diffuse pollution sources. A joint US-China workshop will facilitate knowledge exchange.
