Weeebytes Pty Ltd, a recycling company based in Carrum Downs, has been fined nearly $20,000 for illegally exporting hazardous e-waste to Singapore. The shipment, intercepted on March 24, 2025, included crushed hard drives, circuit boards, and lithium-ion batteries, hidden behind other goods.

The company did not obtain the necessary export permit. Authorities mandated the return of the container and lawful disposal of the e-waste at Weeebytes' expense.
