Western Australia Allocates AU$60 Million for Clean Energy and Decarbonisation Initiatives

HYDROGENCARBON CAPTURE

The Western Australian government is investing up to AU$60 million in clean energy and decarbonisation projects through its New Energies Industries Funding Stream. The funding will support initiatives focusing on green hydrogen, green iron and steel, critical minerals processing, and carbon capture.

The first funding round in 2024 has already allocated AU$60 million to five projects, aiming to diversify the state's economy and create local jobs. Despite recent challenges in the hydrogen sector, the government is committed to fostering growth in this area.
