Wheatland Residents Oppose Robin Energy Storage's Proposed 200-MW Battery Project
ENERGY STORAGE
Wheatland residents are strongly opposing Robin Energy Storage's proposed 200-megawatt lithium-ion battery project, citing safety, environmental risks, and its location near local schools. Despite an offer of $8.6 million to the town, over 100 residents attended a meeting to voice their concerns, leading to both the planning and zoning commission and the town board voting against the project. Robin Energy Storage subsequently withdrew its application but plans to resubmit in the future, asserting compliance with local ordinances.
