Xpeng's Iron Humanoid Robot Falls During Shenzhen Demonstration
SEMICONDUCTORROBOTICS
Xpeng Motors' humanoid robot, Iron, collapsed during a demonstration in Shenzhen, China, after a few steps. Weighing 70 kg and standing 1.78 meters tall, the robot was caught by staff before being removed.
Iron features 62 active joints and is powered by three proprietary Turing AI chips, offering 2,250 TOPS computing power. Despite advanced technology, including a lightweight semiconductor battery, the demonstration ended in failure, leading to Iron being secured for future presentations. Xpeng's CEO likened the robot's learning process to that of a child.
