Yeosu City Invests 6.5 Billion Won in Urban Forest for 2026 World Expo

Yeosu City is investing 6.5 billion won in the Climate Response Urban Forest Creation Project at the site of the 2026 World Expo, covering 6.5 hectares in the Jinmo District. The initiative will feature four carbon storage forests and ten shelter forests, planting nearly 19,000 trees and over 106,000 herbaceous plants, aimed at enhancing ecological awareness and improving the Expo environment. Construction commenced in November 2022, with completion planned before the Expo opens.
