Yorkshire Water Advances Major Renewable Gas Project at Blackburn Meadows

Civil engineering work has commenced at Yorkshire Water's Blackburn Meadows site in Sheffield, marking a significant milestone for a key renewable gas initiative. The five-month project, coordinated by Green Gas Solutions, will prepare for gas-to-grid equipment set to arrive in autumn 2025.
Once operational, the plant is expected to supply enough biomethane to heat approximately 4,000 homes annually, contributing to the UK's goal of producing 50 TWh of biomethane by 2030. The development underscores the importance of collaboration in advancing net-zero ambitions.
