The Yukon-B.C. grid connection project aims to link Yukon to British Columbia's power grid, potentially generating $7.6 billion annually and creating 36,000 jobs through an 800-kilometre high-voltage transmission line. However, northern B.C.

First Nations and conservationists express concerns about the project's environmental impact and its potential to accelerate mining developments, with 19 identified mining projects as beneficiaries. Currently in the pre-feasibility phase, the initiative is funded by the Yukon Development Corporation and Canada's Critical Mineral Infrastructure Fund.
