ZF India has been awarded a contract to supply its AxTrax 2 LF electric portal axle to an Indian OEM, with deliveries starting in 2026. This marks the introduction of India's first fully integrated low-floor electric axle for city buses, designed for both domestic and export markets.

The axle will be used in 18-metre articulated and 11-metre city buses, featuring two power variants and advanced thermal management systems. The supply agreement covers several thousand units under a long-term program.
