The St. Lucie County Erosion District, in partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, will commence a $15.1 million beach nourishment project in Fort Pierce in early March.

This initiative aims to combat erosion south of the Fort Pierce Inlet by placing nearly 400,000 cubic yards of sand along approximately one mile of shoreline, with completion anticipated by mid-May. Temporary closures and restrictions will be in effect at Jetty Park during the construction period.
