80 Militants Surrender Arms to Nigerian Army in Cross River State Amnesty Program

Eighty militants from two camps in Akpabuyo Local Government Area, Cross River State, surrendered to the Nigerian Army on January 16, 2026, as part of an amnesty program. The groups, led by ThankGod Ebikontei and John Isaac, handed over various weapons, including AK-47 rifles and explosives, and are currently being profiled by the Department of State Services.
Brigadier General P.O. Alimikhena highlighted the significance of military operations and collaboration with the state government in promoting peace.
