ABB and HDF Energy have partnered to develop high-power fuel cells for large ships, with pilot installations planned for 2028-2029 and series production starting in 2030. A new manufacturing facility in Blanquefort, France, will initially produce 100 MW annually, aiming for 1 GW by 2030, to support the maritime sector's transition to low-carbon energy solutions.
