The American Center for Manufacturing & Innovation (ACMI) has begun construction on a National Security Industrial Hub at Crane Naval Base in Bloomfield, Indiana, backed by a $75 million Department of Defense award. This project aims to support defense manufacturers and create thousands of high-paying jobs in southern Indiana, with an estimated $600 million in private investment expected. The hub will feature shared facilities and specialized equipment to enhance production of military technology and strengthen workforce partnerships with local universities.
