Adani Ports plans to invest ₹16,000 crore to expand Vizhinjam port's capacity from 1 million TEUs to 5.7 million TEUs by 2029, aiming to establish it as India's largest transshipment hub. The expansion will include advanced infrastructure such as automated cranes, a rail handling yard, and green technologies. Additionally, an MoU with Bharat Petroleum will facilitate India's first ship-to-ship LNG bunkering operations at the port.
