ADB President Masato Kanda met with Solomon Islands Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele to reinforce support for economic development and public financial management reforms. ADB's project portfolio in the region exceeds $350 million, focusing on critical infrastructure like the Tina River Hydropower Project.

Kanda inaugurated a full resident mission in the Solomon Islands to strengthen ADB's in-country presence. The hydropower project aims to supply 70% of Honiara’s electricity needs, backed by an $18 million loan and a $12 million grant from ADB.
