Aegis Aerospace Inc. and United Semiconductors LLC have announced the establishment of the world's first in-space advanced materials manufacturing facility, following a grant from the Texas Space Commission. The Aegis Advanced Materials Manufacturing Platform (AMMP) will leverage the microgravity environment of low Earth orbit for semiconductor production, aiming to commercialize in-space manufacturing and create job opportunities in Texas. This initiative marks the first dedicated commercial site for in-space materials production.
