The American Institute of Architects (AIA) has reopened its renovated headquarters in Washington D.C., now called the Global Campus for Architecture and Design, following a $60 million project aimed at achieving LEED Platinum and WELL Building Standard certifications. The renovation, which features a 58% reduction in energy use and preserves the original Brutalist architecture, serves as a model for sustainability and aligns with AIA's 2030 Commitment to climate action. Key updates include new photovoltaic panels and the inclusion of the Octagon Museum and a landscaped courtyard.
