Air Force Aid Society Rebrands as Air & Space Forces Aid Society to Reflect Space Force Inclusion
The Air Force Aid Society (AFAS) has been renamed the Air & Space Forces Aid Society, following approval from Air Force Secretary Troy Meink and service chiefs of both the Air Force and Space Force. The organization, established in 1942, continues to serve as the official relief agency for both services, maintaining its acronym while introducing a new logo that symbolizes support for Airmen and Guardians.
In the past year, AFAS provided nearly $15 million in support, including $4.5 million in disaster relief after Hurricanes Milton and Helene and $1.5 million to families impacted by the government shutdown. The rebranding was executed pro bono by the Austin-based agency GSD&M, which has a history of working with the Department of the Air Force.
