Air Force Conducts High-Seas Medical Evacuation of Ill Passenger Near Canary Islands

A 60-year-old German woman was airlifted from the cruise ship MEIN SCHIFF 3, 500 kilometers south of Gran Canaria, in a complex medical evacuation coordinated by the Aeronautical Rescue Coordination Centre of the Canary Islands. The operation, initiated due to the passenger's serious medical condition, involved a maritime surveillance aircraft and a SAR helicopter, which successfully transported her to Hospital Doctor Negrín for treatment.
