Air Force Establishes 562nd Electronic Warfare Squadron at Nellis AFB for Combat Training Support

The Air Force is establishing the 562nd Electronic Warfare Squadron at Nellis Air Force Base to enhance training for airmen in contested electronic environments. Set to be operational by summer 2026, the squadron will support the 350th Spectrum Warfare Wing's focus on electromagnetic spectrum operations, reflecting the military's increased emphasis on electronic warfare since 2021. Full operational capacity is expected by 2028, with several dozen airmen assigned to the unit.
