Alaska to Provide Free Gravel for Ambler Road and Natural Gas Pipeline Projects
NATURAL GAS
Alaska's Department of Natural Resources has announced plans to provide free gravel to public corporations for major construction projects, including the Ambler Access Project and the trans-Alaska natural gas pipeline. This initiative, aimed at reducing costs for the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, could result in a potential revenue loss of $45 million to $66 million for the state. Applications from state agencies will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis to ensure the gravel serves a public purpose.
