Aligned Data Centers has proposed a new campus named 'Project Phoenix' in Shippingport, Beaver County, adjacent to the old Bruce Mansfield power plant. The Shippingport Council has approved zoning modifications, but the project still requires permits and a hearing regarding noise limits for 24/7 construction.

The facility aims to generate numerous jobs and will initially be powered by natural gas generators. Frontier Group is investing $3.2 billion to convert the old plant to natural gas, which could eventually supply the data centers with electricity.
