America Makes and the National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining have announced a $1.1 million project aimed at enhancing additive manufacturing interoperability between the U.S. and U.K. defense sectors. Funded by the U.S.
Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering, the initiative will focus on laser powder bed fusion and address challenges related to process qualification, certification, and secure data transmission. The project aims to strengthen the defense industrial base in alignment with both nations' manufacturing strategies.
