Apple Supports New US Tech Force for Government Digitalization
The US government is establishing the Tech Force, a cross-departmental unit aimed at modernizing government technology. Young IT professionals can apply for a two-year service in this elite team, which will collaborate with technology companies to develop software projects for various government agencies, including the Department of Treasury and the Department of Defense.
The unit will focus on software development, AI, cybersecurity, data analysis, and technical project management, with no specific educational requirements for applicants. Most of the 1,000 recruits will be based in Washington, receiving salaries between $150,000 and $200,000. The Tech Force will assist veterans in job placements post-service and is modeled similarly to a military unit, but operates under the '.gov' domain, not under the Department of Defense.
