Army Materiel Command Enhances Soldier Experience and Readiness Initiatives in 2025

DEFENSE

In 2025, the Army Materiel Command (AMC) implemented several initiatives to modernize Soldier support and readiness. A concession contract awarded to Compass Group USA, Inc. on August 28 aims to establish campus-style dining venues at Forts Hood, Bragg, Stewart, Carson, and Drum, with pilot openings expected by June 2026.

A limited user assessment for the Flexible Eating and Expanded Dining initiative was conducted at Fort Hood, allowing Soldiers to use meal entitlements outside traditional facilities, with 80% opting for healthier choices. AMC also improved inventory management through streamlined storefronts and initiated the Rapid Removal and Modernization of Organizational Clothing and Individual Equipment.

Notably, Fort Bliss opened the military's first 3D-printed barracks, and AMC completed a $5.6 million upgrade at Fort Hunter Liggett. The Organic Industrial Base modernization includes new facilities for ammunition and microelectronics. Additionally, AMC reinforced global readiness through multinational exercises and advanced analytics to enhance operational efficiency.
