Army Officials Express Concerns Over GD-OTS's 155mm Production Delays at Mesquite Facility

DEFENSE

The Army's acquisition chief, Brent Ingraham, criticized General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems for delays in producing 155mm artillery projectiles at the Mesquite, Texas facility. Despite plans to ramp up production to 100,000 shells per month, the plant has yet to produce any projectiles two years post-agreement.

Currently, the Army is limited to 56,000 shells monthly and is negotiating with GD-OTS regarding the contract. Officials have indicated a willingness to consider termination of the contract if progress is not made.
