Havildar Gajendra Singh, an Army paratrooper, was killed in a gunfight during 'Operation Trashi-I' in Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir, on January 19, 2026. The operation, aimed at neutralizing a group of 2-3 terrorists, resulted in eight soldiers being injured and led to the discovery of a terrorist hideout at 12,000 feet in the Singhpora area. This operation is part of ongoing counter-terrorism efforts in the region ahead of Republic Day celebrations.
