Babe's Ice Cream in Bay View will reopen on February 5 under new owner Michael Ludwig, who previously led its redevelopment 20 years ago. The shop will continue to offer Madison-made Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream and retain all current employees, with Ludwig's family involved in operations.

The ice cream shop will operate from noon to 7 p.m. Thursday through Sunday during winter, with plans for extended hours in warmer months.
