Bahamas National Energy Policy 2025-2030 Targets Renewable Energy Growth and Security
NATURAL GAS
The Bahamas' National Energy Policy 2025-2030 aims to increase renewable energy, currently at 2.5% of electricity capacity, and enhance energy security. With 735 MW installed capacity largely from fossil fuels, the policy promotes cleaner energy sources, efficiency, and natural gas use.
It includes initiatives for smart grid development, energy efficiency programs, and workforce training to support the transition. The government plans LNG infrastructure to reduce oil reliance and improve electricity costs.
